Budget allocated for fast track

KATHMANDU: Nepali Army has been allocated Rs 100 million through the Defense Ministry to open fast track linking Kathmandu with Tarai.

The government, in its budget for the fiscal year, announced to deploy the national army in speeding up works to construct the fastest route between the capital city and the southern plains.

According to Ministry of Physical Planning and Works, the government will expedite work to settle Dom, Musahar, Chamar, Dusadh, Khatwe and other backward and downtrodden Muslims of Siraha, Saptari and Kapilvastu districts. The Ministry added that the details for the establishment of settlement have already been collected by holding discussions at the local level. It is estimated that building each house costs Rs 100,000.
