KATHMANDU: A person died after being rammed by a bus in Srijananagar of Bhaktapur Municipality-1 in Bhaktapur district on Tuesday.

The deceased has been identified as Ram Thakur (32), a resident of Naya Thimi in the municipality.

The bus (Ba 2 Kha 3589) knocked Thakur critically injuring him, in Srijananagar yesterday, according to police. He was walking along the road when the incident occurred.

Thakur was rushed to the Thimi-based Madhyapur Hospital for treatment. He was later referred to the Dhapakhel-based Sumeru Hospital where he succumbed to injuries during the course of treatment, said police.

Meanwhile, police have impounded the vehicle and detained its driver for futher investigation, said police.
