KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Madhav Kumar Nepal is scheduled to hold meetings with leaders of different political parties to discuss the ongoing political situation of Nepal on Wednesday. The PM has embarked on a series of meetings with various political leaders since the last few days for consultations on the ongoing political situation amid escalating criticism of his government.

He is scheduled to hold separate meetings with Bijaya Kumar Gachhadar, president of Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum (Loktantrik), Mahantha Thakur president of Terai Madhes Loktantrik Party and Rajendra Mahato, president of Sadbhavana Party.

He is also scheduled to meet with CA members of the CPN- UML elected from Bagmati, Narayani and Janakpur at his residence at 3:30 pm, the Prime Minister's press advisor Bishnu Rijal said.

Nepal is scheduled to hold discussions with leaders of the CPN-UML and the Nepali Congress in the evening.

Meanwhile, the PM met Jack McConnell, the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown's special representative on peace building today.

McConnell is in Nepal for a three day official visit. He brought a personal letter for PM Nepal which he handed over during his meet with the PM.

McConnell is also scheduled to meet with Maoist supremo Pushpa Kamal Dahal according to the press statement of the British Embassy on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, PM Nepal is scheduled to inaugurate the Patanjali Yogpeeth Dhulikhel branch.

Yesterday he held meetings with Sarita Giri, chairperson of Nepal Sadbhawana Party, Ram Singh Shrish and Rishi Kattel of CPN Unified, Kamal Thapa, chairman of Rastriya Prajatantra Party- Nepal and CA members Bishwonath Agrawal and Shyam Sundar Gupta to discuss about the current political development.

He also held a meeting with ambassadors of various countries including Denmark, United States of America, Finland, Switzerland, Britain, Norway, and Germany.

Earlier on March 27 he consulted Chandra Dev Joshi, chairperson of CPN-United and general secretary Sunil Manandhar and, Minister for Environment Thakur Sharma and on March 28 he met with the leaders of various fringe parties including Dalit Janajati Party, Newa Party, Nepal Pariwar Dal and Rastrya Janamukti Party.
