Kathmandu, October 12:

The Nepal Cultural Association (NCA) felicitated Pradip Kumar Rai aka Byakul Maila, writer of

the new national anthem, on Friday.

The NCA, a sister organisation of the NC, presented a copper plaque to Rai. The NCA also handed over flags of the NC and the NCA to the newly-formed UK and EU branches of the NCA. Launching the campaign of the NCA entitled ‘’Cultural Awareness for Constituent Assembly Polls’’, acting president of the NC Sushil Koirala urged the organisers of the campaign to work for the nation and democracy. Chairman of the NCA, Tirtha Bahadur Thapa, said the union is playing a crucial role for democracy after establishing branch offices in 68 districts of the country and in Japan.
