KATHMANDU:

An unidentified person on a motorcycle opened fire at a taxi driver at Tripureshwor on Wednesday. The incident occurred when one of three speeding motorcycles (Ba-2-kha 1213) collided with a taxi at around 10 pm, SP Dhak Bahadur Karki at the Metropilitan Police Range said. The rider on the motorcycle that hit the taxi shot at the unidentified driver and abandoned his vehilce and sped away in one of the other two motorcycles. The same persons later reached New Baneshwor and opened fire there also. However, police could not say why the trio opened fire there. The driver, who was hit on his leg, is undergoing treatment in Bir Hospital.
