Cabinet decides to make ministers' property details public
KATHMANDU: The government on Sunday decided to make property details of ministers soon.
A Cabinet meeting held this afternoon made a decision to this effect.
Laws require that anyone holding public positions should make the details of their property public within 60 days of assuming office. It, however, has already been more than four months that the Pushpa Kamal Dahal-led government was formed.
Meanwhile, the Cabinet also decided to accept nearly Rs 16 billion from China for the post-quake reconstruction activities in Nepal.
Spokesperson of the government and Minister for Information and Communications Surendra Kumar Karki shared this information adding that the Cabinet meeting on Sunday decided to accept the grants worth Rs 15.80 billion provided by China.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers also decided to register the Election (Crime and Punishment) Bill at the Legislature-Parliament.
A decision was made to send a proposal to the Legislation Committee on a work procedure to study the agreement the government made with Dr Govinda KC and forward implementations accordingly, Minister Karki added.
According to him, the government was sending a delegation to India to open an additional route in view of congested air traffic in Nepal's Simara route.
Moreover, a Committee would be formed by the government under the coordination of former judge of the then Appellate court, Govinda Prasad Parajuli, to study on the government employees and teachers who were sacked from the jobs on the basis of ideology during the armed conflict and agitations. The members of the committee are Deputy Attorney General at the Office of the Attorney General, Rewati Shivakoti, and Director at Department of Education, Ana Prasad Neupane.
