Call for Limbuwan region bandh today
Kathmandu, July 17:
Federal Limbuwan State Council (FLSC) has called Limbuwan region bandh tomorrow. The bandh will affect all districts of Mechi and Koshi zones. The council is demanding Limbuwan autonomous republican state with the right to self-determination through the interim constitution.
Issuing a release here today, the FLSC stated that it would go for an indefinite bandh in the Limbuwan region from August 7.
All the transport, educational institutions, government and non-government organisations, markets, factories and industries would be closed from 5 am to 5 pm, while emergency services, including medicine shops, hospitals, fire fighters and the vehicles of diplomatic missions, would not be stopped tomorrow, the release added.
The release states, “The nation should be restructured on the basis of ethnicity, language and cultural diversities in order to avert the possible rebellion in the near future.”
The Limbuwan region was popularly known as ‘Pallo Kirat Limbuwan’ before Nepal was divided into 14 zones and 75 districts in the year 2019 BS, it added.
