Call to teach kids to be non-violent
Kathmandu, April 13:
A US professor today stressed the need to teach children to be non-violent.
Professor Dr Elisabeth Maring from the USA, who did a research on violence in the US and India, delivered a speech at a talk programme on ‘Intercultural Perspectives on Peacemaking and Violence’.
“The impact of domestic violence and community violence lead in the development of aggressive behaviour in a child,” she said. “Domestic violence may cause traumatic stress among children,” she said.
“A family member or at least a strong support person is needed for guidance to help the child feel free.”
