Canada nod to Nepalese mission

KATHMANDU: Paying heed to the government’s request, Canada has agreed to open the Nepalese Embassy. Rudra Nepal, co-spokesperson, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, said preparations had started to construct the embassy in Canada following the approval from the Canadian government. The ruling UML-led coalition has drawn flak for proposing former chief secretary Bhoj Raj Ghimire’s name as the ambassador to Canada. Earlier, Ghimire’s mandatory parliamentary hearing was put in abeyance since the lawmakers insisted that the establishment should take precedence before finalising the envoy to Canada. The panel is now planning to hold Ghimire’s hearing soon. Earlier, two complaints have been filed against the former chief secretary Ghimire.
