Students in Delhi
KATHMANDU: Seven students of Alok Vidhyashram in Gaushala are on an eight-day visit to Bluebells School International in New Delhi as part of a student exchange programme. According to a statement issued by the school on Thursday, the students will be staying with a local family and will participate in a community work project there. The programme is aimed at building global citizens who are committed to working for positive change, the school said.
Cops seize weapon
Kathmandu: Police on Thursday seized a US-made 9-mm pistol, two bullets and a sword from a vehicle that was parked on the premises of Venus Casino. Acting on a tip-off that a group of men with weapons were visiting the casino, a police team led by Inspector Rugam Kunwar at the Sorhakhutte Police Station had raided the gambling house. The weapons were confiscated from a black Suzuki car. However, police failed to arrest the vehicle owner.
