Sand mine kills 1
Kathmandu, Feb. 16: A youth died after a mound of earth fell upon him while he was working at a sand mine in Manamaiju-3 of Kathmandu district. Raju Tamang, 18, residence of Khusibu town planning injured critically in the incident and died while undergoing treatment at Neuro Hospital, Bansbari, said police.
Traffic halted
Bhaktapur: Madhya Upatyaka Bus Entrepreneurs’’ Association disrupted bus service plying on Duwakot-Ratnapark route for an indefinite period from Monday over a fare row. Though the government had fixed Rs. 37 fare, passengers are only paying half (Rs 18), thus, we are forced to halt vehicular service, said Suresh Khatri, Association’s treasurer. Following the obstructions, locals are compelled to walk 8 km.
Party supports govt
Kathmandu: The Chure Bhawar National Unity Party has said it would not withdraw support to the government at present. At a press meet organised by the party here today, Chairman of the party Keshav Prasad Mainali said, “We can fight within the government over differences but will not withdraw support”. He, however, criticised the government for failing to maintain law and order .
