Dr Shah no more
KATHMANDU: Dr Saubhagya Shah, Associate Professor, Tribhuvan University passed away on Wednesday morning. He was 48. Maryada Singh, Shah's youngest sister told that he was found unconscious and died while being rushed to hospital. He was a heart patient for many years. Renowned scholar Shah completed his PhD in Anthropology from Harvard University, USA. He was serving as the programme coordinator of Conflict, Peace and Development Studies in TU since 2007. His last rites were performed at Pashupati Aryaghat on Wednesday itself.
Underground water
KATHMANDU: The Supreme Court on Wednesday directed the government authorities to regulate the use of underground water in the capital. A division bench comprising Chief Justice Anup Raj Sharma and justice Prem Sharma directed the Ministry of Water Resources and Ministry of Environment and Population to regulate its use. The authorities are also told to prevent unauthorised use of underground water and take action against those involved in such activities. The bench was responding to a PIL filed by a Pro Public group.
