Kathmandu, August 15

The Rotary Club of Kathmandu Mid-Town, in collaboration with Edulift, brought together Nepal's changemakers for an inspiring Career Connection Partner and Beneficiary Meet-Up at Xavier's Academy, Lazimpat in Kathmandu.

The vibrant gathering of around 100 participants united implementing partners, programme beneficiaries, educators, corporate leaders and development professionals - all committed to empowering Nepal's youth through skills, opportunities and hope.

The event opened with a warm welcome address from Neve M Pradhan, president of RC Kathmandu Mid-Town and Point of Contact for the Global Grant Career Connection Project. "Career Connection is designed for young people, particularly those from marginalised backgrounds, to bridge the skills gap in Nepal through targeted training and employment opportunities," she noted.

This was followed by compelling presentation from Tenzin Sonam, founder of Edulift, who walked attendees through the project's mission and milestones. He showcased year 1 achievements, highlighting how the programme's vocational training and job placement efforts have transformed lives- with graduates now working in diverse fields, from electrical services to IT, hospitality and entrepreneurship.

The implementing Partner Insights segment featured thought-provoking reflections from Career Coach Nepal, UCEP Nepal, Broadway Infosys, Upskill Nepal and SajiloSewa. Each partner shared real-life success stories and the measurable impact of the programme on trainees' confidence, skill sets and career prospects.

A proud moment came with the Certificate Ceremony led by SajiloSewa, celebrating the successful completion of electrical training for the latest batch of graduates - many of whom have already secured employment or internships.

Closing remarks from Bhim Udas, President of RC Kathmandu Mid-Town; Nirmal Rijal, project chair of Rotary District 3292 and Rtn Rachana Thapa reinforced Rotary's commitment to sustainable youth development. A heartfelt vote of thanks from Rtn Isabella Khadka acknowledged the dedication of all stakeholders, volunteers and supporters.

The event was graced by esteemed guests Kumud Tripathi, Chair of Rotary Foundation, Rotary District 3292, and Rtn Sunil Shahi, chair of the Rotary Foundation, Rotary District 3292.

It also saw strong representation from the past presidents of RC Kathmandu Mid-Town, board members, alongside students from Rupy's International School, Silver Mountain School of Hotel Management and Xavier Academy, as well as entrepreneurs, business houses and well-wishers.
