Child sensitive journalism fiat in final stage
KATHMANDU: The preparation of the draft of Child Sensitive Journalism Directive-2072 BS has reached its final stage.
The information was shared at a meeting attended by the representatives of Press Council Nepal, Federation of Nepali Journalists, Department of Information, Central Child Welfare Board and other stakeholders in the Capital on Thursday.
The Directive has stressed the sensitivities to be considered while disseminating news related to children in course of journalism practices.
While framing the directive, the stakeholders were consulted in five districts including Parsa, Dang and Palpa.
It was shared that the preparation was on to bring the directive – the final document prepared after thorough consultations with the stakeholders – into effect from January 28.
