Chinese minister arrives

KATHMANDU: Minister for Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China Wang Yi arrived in Kathmadnu today to participate in the International Conference on Nepal's Reconstruction going to be hosted by the Nepal government tomorrow.

The conference is being organised to garner external support in the aftermath of the devastating earthquake.

Wang arrived at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) this afternoon on a special flight.

He was received by China's Ambassador to Nepal, Wu Chuntai, Acting Secretary at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Shanker Das Bairagi, senior officers of the Ministry and the Chinese Embassy at the TIA.

Similarly, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Minoru Kiuchi arrived here today for the same conference.

Japan's Ambassador to Nepal Masashi Ogawa, officials of Foreign Affairs and Finance ministries and high-ranking officers of the Japanese Embassy were at the TIA to welcome the Japanese State Minister and his 11-member entourage that comprises senior officials of Foreign Ministry and media people, as well.
