KATHMANDU: A Chinese national was arrested in possession of NRs 8.4 million and cheques of a Nepali bank on Friday.

The arrested foreigner has been identified as Zhao Yi, informed police.

He was staying in a hotel at Jyatha of Kathmandu.

Police have found his passport (G 57396842) from his hotel room. The cheques seized were of the NIC Asia Bank Ltd issued under the name of Rajib Pandey.

The Chinese national has been sent to Metropolitan Police Circle in Lainchaur for further investigation.
