Chinese team meets Bista

Kathmandu, March 2:

A Chinese delegation representing Tianjin Municipal People’’s Association for Friendship with foreign countries led by Gong Tie Ying today met vice-chairman of the council of ministers Kirtinidhi Bista.

Bista hoped that relations between Nepal and China which have been growing steadily over past 50 years can be taken as an example of ideal relations between any two countries.

The leader of the delegation secretary general Gong said that contrary to the information disseminated by the international media, he found the situation in Nepal quite normal.

The delegation is in Nepal to make preparations for the China Trade Fair 2005, jointly organised by the Chinese embassy in Nepal and Nepal-China Executive’s Council to mark the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Also present on the occasion were commercial counseller at the Chinese embassy Liu Yi Nan, second secretary Li Peng, president of Nepal-China Executive Council Anoop Ranjan Bhattrai and executive member Shankar Ghimire.
