As many as 12 people in the Kathmandu Valley are confirmed to have contracted cholera, according to the Department of Health Services (DHS).
Fourteen people have been diagnosed and returned home after treatment, said Director of Epidemiology and Disease Control Division Dr Chuman Lal Das.
Two more cholera patients are undergoing treatment at Shukraraj Tropical and Communicable Diseases Hospital in Teku.
Dr Das also shared that the first person diagnosed with cholera was treated at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital, after his condition deteriorated.
