CIAA asks NEA to suspend officials

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) today ordered Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to suspend its senior officials on charge of irregularity while selecting the employees. The CIAA asked the NEA to suspend its directors — Ram Prasad Adhikary, Thakur Raj Pandey and Santoshananda Mishra, assistant directors Binodchandra Karmacharya and managers Bishnu Bahadur Singh and Shaiyad Samim Shah. The anti-graft body charged them of granting more numbers to their relatives in the practical examination for electronic technicians and drivers. Similarly, the watchdog ordered the Council for Technical Education and Vocational Training (CTEVT) to suspend its deputy director Lekh Ratna Shakya on charge of similar involvement.
