CIAA begins probe into irregularities in fuel distribution

KATHMANDU: With more reports coming out about alleged irregularities in distribution of fuel during the time the nation is feeling an acute shortage, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority began investigations (CIAA) into the issue.

The national anti-corruption body on Friday inquired Nepal Oil Corporation Executive Director Gopal Bahadur Khadka and Director Mukunda Ghimire.

The CIAA spokesperson Krishna Hari Pushkar said the Commission has already issued directives to the concerned officials for just and proportional distribution of available fuel.

If that could not happen, they had to face music, he warned.

The CIAA has directed Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Department of Commerce, National Trading Limited and Salt Trading Corporation Limited to take initiatives to control rampant black marketing.

The CIAA has urged one and all to lodge complaints if anyone found indulged in black marketing and other irregularities.
