CIAA decision on royal officials’ corruption case soon

Kathmandu, July 23:

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority is preparing to announce its decision on the graft cases against former regional and zonal administrators.

The Rayamajhi Commission had indicted five regional administrators, 14 zonal administrators and members of the cabinet headed by the then king Gyanendra on the charge of misusing state treasury.

“We will decide this case within three weeks,” said Lalit Bahadur Limbu, acting chief commissioner of the CIAA.

The commission had also indicted dozens of mayors and deputy mayors on the charge of misusing state treasury during Jana Andolan-II.
