CIAA not to file graft case against ex-IGP Aryal

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority today said that it would not file corruption case in any court against former inspector general of police Upendra Kanta Aryal.

CIAA Spokesperson Padam Prasad Pandey said the anti-graft constitutional body did not find any discrepancy in the income and expenditure of former IGP Aryal. “We will not file any case in court against ex-IGP Aryal,” said Pandey.

According to Pandey, the CIAA had thoroughly examined Aryal’s income and his property and had also recorded his statement several times.

A corruption case was filed against Aryal at the CIAA accusing him of amassing disproportionate property misusing his power and post. The CIAA said that it would resume investigation if additional evidences proved his involvement in corruption.
