CIAA tells government offices to curb graft
Kathmandu, August 14:
The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) today directed chief district officers of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur district and heads of other government offices based in the Kathmandu Valley to curb corruption and irregularities.
The CIAA directed District Administration Offices, Land Revenue Offices, Land Reforms Offices and Survey Offices to curb corruption and bribing while issuing citizenship and passport certificates and while issuing land ownership certificates.
“After coming across hundreds of cases of corruption and irregularities, we have directed authorities concerned to control corruption and irregularities in these offices,” Acting Chief of the CIAA Lalit Bahadur Limbu told this daily.
The CIAA today summoned Jaya Mukunda Khanal, Bimal Prasad Dhakal and Dilli Prasad Siwakoti, CDOs of Kathmandu, Lalitpur and Bhaktapur along with officials of the Land Revenue Offices, Land Reform Offices and Survey Offices.
The constitutional body also told officials to respond in time whenever it seeks
explanations.
