Kathmandu, July 25:

Stating that there is serious negligence in the Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in the checking of statements of goods, the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) today directed the Finance Ministry to strictly check the statements.

The CIAA issued the direction after it found irregularities while checking the statements of Bina Impex, Kathmandu.

It called on the ministry to “strictly check the statement of goods that are imported in the Tribhuvan International Airport as per Clause 23 (2) of Custom Act 1964.”
