KATHMANDU, FEBRUARY 1

The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of the Nepal Police has apprehended businessman Arun Chaudhary and Ajit Narayan Thapa, the former CEO of Bansbari Leather and Shoe Factory, on allegations of unlawfully seizing the factory's land.

Thapa served as the interim executive chief at the time of the incident, while Chaudhary is the brother of billionaire businessman and federal parliament member Binod Chaudhary.

They are charged with fraudulent acquisition of 10 Ropanis of public land belonging to the factory and have been arrested for further investigaion into the case, it has been learnt.
