Circular issued to local levels

KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Federal Affairs and General Administration on Saturday issued a circular to all local levels, including Kathmandu Metropolitan City, to put all their efforts in search, rescue and relief operations in disaster-hit areas by maintaining coordination with the agencies concerned, volunteers and the general public.

The MoFAGA told the local levels to maintain one-door system for food, shelter and medical care for persons or households displaced and affected by floods and landslides. “The ministry also requests the local levels to cooperate with the security agencies deployed for search and rescue works,” the circular read.

Local levels across the country have also been urged to provide the daily progress report of search, rescue and relief operations being carried out in disaster-hit areas. “If the local levels do not have adequate budget to cater to the needs of disaster victims, they may request the ministry through the concerned district disaster management committee,” the circular read.
