KATHMANDU: A sit-in protest by civil society leaders outside Sital Niwas on Tuesday morning was disrupted by the police who took the leaders into custody. Among those arrested were Devendra Raj Panday, Krishna Pahadi, Shyam Shrestha and Khagendra Sangroula.

The leaders were protesting the unconstitutional nature of the president’s action to reinstate the Chief of Army Staff Rookmangud Katawal after he had been sacked.
