Civil society on 48 hr protest

KATHMANDU: The Civil Movement for Democracy and Peace (CMDP) began a 48-hour sit-in protest in front of the Constituent Assembly building on Thursday at 8 am.

The CMPD has been putting pressure on political parties to draft the new constitution in the given time frame and promulgate the Rome Statute. The sit-in protest will conclude on Saturday with a mass meeting in the capital.

Earlier the CMDP had staged a 24 hour sit-in protest.
