CoAS visiting US

KATHMANDU: Chief of Army Staff Rajendra Chhetri is leaving for a week-long visit to the United States on April 25. Spokesperson for the Nepali Army Tara Bahadur Karki said General Chhetri is visiting the US at the invitation of US Army. General Chhetri had completed his National Defence Course from the US Army War College, Carlisle, Pennsylvania in 2010. It will be his third foreign trip — after India and China — since he assumed office as the army chief in September. He had visited India and China in February and March, respectively. It is learnt that the army chief is also scheduled to meet UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon and discuss the role played by Nepali Army in establishing world peace.
