Committees formed to design curriculum for Grade XI, XII

Kathmandu, June 15

The government has formed four committees to draft the curriculum of Grade XI and XII. Professor Chaitanya Subedi for Social Studies, Professor Govinda Raj Bhattarai for English, Professor Keshav Subedi for Nepali and Bimal Phuyal for the skill-based subject have been selected to design the curriculum.

Curriculum Development Centre had prepared the draft of a new curriculum for early childhood level to Grade XII. However, the Cabinet did not approve the draft.

“English and Nepali subjects will be revised. Social studies and skill-based subjects will be completely new,” said Khubiram Adhikari, information officer at Curriculum Development Centre.

Earlier, the draft of the framework was finalised by the board that included members of National Curriculum Development Centre and the Evaluation Council chaired by the education minister.
