Condolence assembly on Dixit's demise

KATHMANDU: Ratna Pustakalaya today organised a condolence assembly on the eighth day of the demise of noted Nepali litterateur Kamal Mani Dixit.

The attendees, including the Vice-Chancellor of Nepal Academy Bishnu Bibhu Ghimire, offered their condolences to Dixit, who passed away at the age of 87 on December 29, 2016.

They also shed light on various facets and prominent contributions of Dixit in Nepali literature.

Dixit has penned and edited more than six dozen books; and around two thousand literary creations, mostly in Nepali, are credited to him.

Dixit was the founder of the Madan Puraskar Guthi as well as Madan Puraskar Pustakalaya.

Speaking on today's condolence assembly, Prof Dr Kumar Koirala mentioned that Dixit had significantly contributed to the education sector besides Nepali literature.
