Consensus continues to elude parties
KATHMANDU: A meeting of the special committee of the Constitutional Political Dialogue and Consensus Committee (CPDCC) under the Constituent Assembly (CA) could not make any conclusion regarding demarcation of federal states, on Friday also.
The committee comprising of chairpersons of Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, UCPN-Maoist and Madhesi Janaadhikar Forum-Democratic has been holding continuous meetings for last few days.
They have reportedly been discussing how to delineate borders of Pradeshes in the purported federal structure, but have not made any agreement yet.
Meanwhile, CPDCC Chairman Baburam Bhattarai put off the CPDCC meeting for 1 pm on Saturday.
The CPDCC will prepare its report and table it at the CA full house if the special committee makes any agreement by then.
CA Chairman Subas Chandra Nembang has called the CA meeting for 3 pm tomorrow.
