2 edu consultancy operators held for swindling seven of millions
KATHMANDU: Nepal Police on Tuesday said two persons were arrested for swindling seven people of big amount of money with assurance to send them to Portugal but leaving them stranded in Russia.
The suspects Samjhana KC (23) of Thakre VDC, Dhading and Ananda KC of Salyan-4, Kaski were arrested on Sunday from New Baneshwar, police said.
The duo had allegedly collected up to Rs 1.05 million each from the victims, including Bharat BK of Baglung.
Boarding a flight from New Delhi when they reached Russia, they realised they were duped.
Police swung into action after some of the victims and their families lodged a complaint at the Nepal Police’s Metropolitan Crime Division.
The 23-year-old Samjhana KC runs the Baneshwar-based Recon Education Consultancy and Ananda KC the Highlink Education Consultancy in Kalanki.
They were handed over to the Department of Foreign Employment in Buddhanagar on Monday for necessary action.
