KATHMANDU, JUNE 8

Senior Advocate Dinesh Tripathi today filed a petition at the Supreme Court, accusing the Office of the Prime Minister, Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Industry, and Ministry of Forests and Environment of contempt of court.

Tripathi argued that Clause 87 of the new fiscal budget, which allows the export of minerals and river materials, violates a mandamus order issued by the Supreme Court on April 20, 2022. The order, issued in response to his earlier writ petition, had banned the export of Nepal's river materials to foreign countries.

The first hearing for the case has been scheduled for Tuesday.
