Kathmandu, April 24:

A police team from Metropolitan Police Circle, Balaju, arrested police constable Tamrang Bhote yesterday evening when he and his accomplices were fleeing after robbing three locals at Milijulitole, Majarajgunj.

Police said Bhote and his five accomplices were fleeing after looting cash and jewellery from Surendra Bista, Arjun Bista and Santosh Bista, when police patrol team caught him.

The police said they have yet to arrest his accomplices.

SSP Shushil Bar Singh Thapa, spokesperson for Nepal Police, said Bhote has been suspended and action would be taken against him in accordance with the law.

DSP Kanchan Thapa at the Metropolitan Police Circle, Balaju, said Bhote had left his job without information and the police was searching him for the past two months.
