Cops looking for FNCCI president

Kathmandu, May 2:

Police said today they are keeping tabs on Chandi Raj Dhakal, president of the Federation of Nepalese Chamber of Commerce and Industries (FNCCI), and managing director of the Momento Apparels.

“We are keeping tabs on him. We have deployed a group of police personnel in civil dress to keep vigil at his house in New Colony, Sitapaila, and arrest him,” Surendra Mainali, an inspector at the Metropolitan Police Section, Swoyambhu, said.

The Metropolitan Police received the arrest warrant against Dhakal and his brother Tika Raj Dhakal, co-owner of the Momento Apparels, from the Revenue Investigation Department (RID) on Sunday after Dhakal defied summons issued by the RID to record a statement on tax evasion charges.
