KATHMANDU, DECEMBER 6

The counting of votes under the proportional representation (PR) system of the November 20 general elections has reached the final stage. According to the Election Commission, 1,560,067 votes have been counted so far.

As per the latest count, the CPN (UML) has received 2,845,642 votes while the Nepali Congress got 2,715,225 votes.

Likewise, the CPN (Maoist Center) has received 1,175,684, Rashtriya Swatantra Party has bagged 1,130,344 votes, Rashtriya Prajatantra Party got 588,849, Janata Samajwadi Party 421,313 votes, Janamat Party 394,605 votes and CPN (Unified Socialist) received 298,391 votes.

According to the Commission, the counting of proportional votes will be completed tonight.

The counting of votes of the first-past-the-post (FPTP) system of the House of Representatives and the Provincial Assembly elections held on November 20 has already been completed.
