KATHMANDU, MAY 24

The District Court of Dhanusha has granted permission to the police to extend the remand of Kailash Sirohiya, Chairman of Kantipur Media Group, for three more days for investigation into a citizenship-related case.

Judge Romakant Jha's bench granted this permission on Friday. Prior to this, during the hearing under Bench No. 5, advocates defended against the allegations leveled against media mogul Sirohiya.

Deputy Superintendent of Police Ranjan Awal, spokesperson for the District Police Office in Dhanusha, confirmed the court's decision.

It is reported that senior advocates Shambhu Thapa, Raman Shrestha, Sher Bahadur KC, Govinda Sharma Bandi, Tikaram Bhatarai, along with advocates Raman Kumar Karna, Kishore Paudel, and Dipendra Jha, argued in defense of Sirohiya.

Sirohiya was apprehended by the police from his office in Kathmandu last Tuesday.
