Kathmandu, May 19:
The Patan Appellate Court today told the Bhaktapur district court to produce the documents of a 1975 case against international serial killer Charles Sobhraj Gurumukh, which were recently found in the Kathmandu district court and sent to Bhaktapur, before the Patan Appellate Court.
A division bench of justices Girish Chandra Lal and Atma Ram Bhattarai told the Bhaktapur court to produce the documents of the old case related to the murder of a Canadian national, Laurent Armand Carriere.
The Kathmandu district court, ten months ago, had convicted Sobhraj for murdering American national Connie Jo Bronzich in 1975.
He is currently serving the jail sentence.
Sobhraj had filed a petition at Patan Appellate Court demanding it to review the old case as an evidence against the Kathmandu district court’s verdict against him.
