Cowrie gamblers detained from Teku Pachali
KATHMANDU: Police on Tuesday arrested 10 persons on the charge of gambling at game of dice (cowrie) in Teku Pachali of KMC-12.
The team deployed from the Kalimati-based Metropolitan Police Circle detained Chandra Shahi (58) of Ganeshsthan in KMC-19 and nine others for gambling on the premises of Bhairab Temple yesterday, according to police.
Police confiscated Rs 640,800 cash and 16 cowries from the site.
Meanwhile, the investigation into the case is underway, said police.
