CPN Maoist Centre also for early announcement of poll dates

KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN Maoist Centre has decided that the government should announce the local poll dates very soon as there was no any alternative to holding the elections on time.

A meeting of the party's Headquarters, presided over by the party Chairman and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, on Thursday morning made the decision after reviewing the current political situations, the PM's Secretariat informed.

The meeting also concluded that the preparations the government had been doing for the polls and the Constitution amendment were positive.

The party, however, viewed that opposition parties and the United Democratic Madhesi Front should be consulted before announcing the polls.
