Maoists to move for amendment except provincial boundary
KATHMANDU: The ruling CPN Maoist Centre on Wednesday decided to work for endorsing the Constitution amendment bill, putting the issue of revision of provincial boundary on hold for now.
A Central Office meeting of the party chaired by Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal made a decision to this effect today after concluding that the proposal for the boundary revision could not garner the support from the two-thirds lawmakers, according to the party spokesperson Pampha Bhusal.
Earlier, PM Dahal had informed party leaders about the ongoing talks with the agitating Madhes-centric parties in a bid to bring them on board the election process.
Meanwhile, the party decided to mobilise all of its organisational bodies for the upcoming local level elections.
Dahal had also briefed his party about his China visit beginning tomorrow.
