UML candidates elected mayor, deputy in Changunarayan Municipality
BHAKTAPUR: CPN-UML candidate Som Mishra has been elected the mayor of the Changu Narayan Municipality in Bhaktapur district on Tuesday.
Mishra, who is also the central member of UML, defeated Rajaram Khadka of Nepali Congress.
Mishra secured 8512 votes against 6869 votes of Khadka.
Similarly, UML's Bina Bastola defeated Radha Baniya of Nepali Congress in the deputy mayoral race.
Bastola mustered 8789 votes while Baniya was limited with 6476 votes.
