Coordinator of the Nepali Communist Party and former Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal, popularly known as 'Prachanda,' has filed his nomination from Rukum (East) constituency–1.

Son of former Bangladesh prime minister returns after 17 years in exile with a chance to lead

The election for the House of Representatives is scheduled for March 5.

Upon arriving at the Office of the Election Officer, Dahal submitted his candidacy. Speaking briefly to the media after filing his nomination papers, he said he would give top priority to the overall development of Rukum.

"Rukum was a key base during the people's war. I decided to contest from this area in the upcoming election, and I will prioritize Rukum's development," he stated.
