Dalit bodies defy curfew

Kathmandu, April 20:

The Nepal National Dalit Journalists’ Association (NNDJA) and the Nepal National Independent Dalit Students’ Organisation (NNIDSO) today organised corner meetings at three different places within the Ring Road defying curfew.

The meetings were organised at Thamel, Chhetrapati and Bangemuda. Addressing a corner meeting, president of the NNDJA Binod Pahadi urged all the people to come to the streets for the sake of democracy. Pahadi also said the restriction on movement of media persons and human rights activists was the extent of the government excesses, which need condemnation.
