Darchula man swindles two Canada PR seekers of Rs 1mln

KATHMANDU: Nepal Police arrested a youth on charge of swindling two persons of over Rs 1 million, tempting them into permanent residency of and lucrative jobs in Canada.

The suspect, identified as Madan Nath (32) of Ritapatachaur-7, Darchula district, was currently living in Putalisadak of Kathmandu. He worked for the Infohub Education Consultancy.

He was arrested from Putalisadak today, the Metropolitan Police Crime Division said.

According to the MPCD, Nath took Rs 680,000 and Rs 382,000 respectively from Sita Sen (39) and Man Bahadur Khatri (46) of Lalmatiya, Dang-9, selling them the dream of good job and permanent residency in the North American nation.

After Nath went out of contact, they felt that they were duped and sought the MPCD's help.

Acting on their complaint, a special police team deployed from the MPCD nabbed the suspect from Putalisadak today.

He has been sent him to the Metropolitan Police Range, Kathmandu, for further investigation and action.
