KATHMANDU, OCTOBER 5
A training program titled 'Data Analysis, Research, and Scientific Writing' has been conducted successfully in Tribhuvan University. This program aimed to prepare the youth studying in various universities in Nepal to excel in the fields of research and scientific writing.
The training program organised from September 4 to September 10 included a total of 27 young researchers from three different universities in Nepal received training in 'Data Analysis and Scientific Writing.' This included 14 from Geography, 2 from Demography, 3 from Rural Development, 3 from Sociology, 1 from Environmental Science, 1 from Medical Sciences, 1 from Chemistry, and 1 Engineering participant. Due to the presence of teachers from various disciplines, the program was enriched with interdisciplinary collaboration and mutual interaction, enhancing the acquisition of knowledge in the field of research, the statement issued by the organsiation said.
In a joint effort by Alliance for International Science Organizations (ANSO) and the Central Department of Geography, the program was successfully conducted at the high-tech hall of the Center for Research and Education, in TU.
Professor Dr. Kusum Shakya, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at Tribhuvan University, and Professor Dr. Binil Aryal, Dean of the Institute of Science and Technology, among various department heads and professors, were present in the closing ceremony. Dr. Kusum Shakya also distributed certificates to the participants.
The participants had received all the necessary amenities, including accommodation and meals during the program. This favorable environment provided ample opportunities for learning in a comfortable setting, which was highly appreciated by the participants.
"The presence of experienced professors, who are renowned in their respective fields, as trainers was a significant asset to the success of this training program. The mentors' expertise has opened up new avenues for young researchers in Nepal, which will undoubtedly contribute to the development of the research field," the statement reads.
The participants will also have to publish a article within a year following the completion of the traning program.
According to the organisers, this training program not only addressed the need for research in Nepal but also contributed to the enhancement of the teaching skills of the professors. It added new dimensions to the field of research through interdisciplinary collaboration and in-depth knowledge sharing.
The program concluded with a closing ceremony, where Professor Dr. Prem Sagar Chapagain, Head of the Department of Geography, expressed gratitude and best wishes on behalf of the program organizers. The participants also expressed their appreciation for the program and highlighted its potential to inspire future researchers.
"This kind of educational program plays a crucial role in raising the educational standard in Nepal and has also provided answers to the actual needs of the education quality in the country. Such programs are vital for the growth of research capabilities and will continue to encourage the rise of new talents in the field of research in Nepal," organisers claimed.
