Declare election results pronto: UML leader Nepal
Kathmandu, December 25
CPN-UML leader Madhav Kumar Nepal has urged the Election Commission to immediately declare the election results and submit them to the president.
Addressing the ‘congratulatory’ programme organised by the left Alliance Kathmandu Constituency Number 2 at the local thali today, he said the EC should not delay announcing the House of Representatives PR election results.
Former prime minister Nepal stressed on forming a new government at the earliest to end the political transition.
He accused Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba of impeding the process with the ruse of the National Assembly election rather than demonstrating his morality by resigning from his post after declaration of the election results of the first-past-the-post elections.
Nepal said the Single Transferable Voting Process which was not even mentioned in the constitution would not be acceptable to them and insisted on adopting the majoritarian system for the National Assembly election.
He reiterated that the process for unification of the UML and the CPN-Maoist Centre would not be stopped no matter what power in the world worked to sabotage it. He ask the cadres of both left alliance constituent parties not to be swayed by any rumour in this regard.
