KATHMANDU, APRIL 26

Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba today issued a press release urging the government to do everything it could to prevent the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Stating that the COVID-19 crisis was overwhelming the entire health system, Deuba said that the government needed to increase its diplomatic efforts to ensure supply of COVID-19 vaccines.

NC President Deuba also urged developed countries who have pre-booked COV- ID-19 vaccines with drug companies to provide Nepal the vaccines from their booked quantity.

Meanwhile, CPN-Maoist Centre Chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal also issued a press release stating that the government was busy inaugurating and laying the foundation stones of new projects instead of strengthening the health system and tackling the COV- ID-19 crisis.

Dahal also urged the government to provide necessary health equipment to local levels to help them deal with the COVID-19 pandemic.

Dahal urged the government and the private sector to provide relief to the poor who bear the brunt of the pandemic the most.

Dahal also urged the rank and file of his party at all levels to work as volunteers in the fight against the COVID-19 crisis.
