Deuba urges Nepali Congress sister wings for timely convention
KATHMANDU: Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has directed the party's sister wings to hold their conventions on time.
During his meeting with a delegation of the party's youth wing Nepal Tarun Dal at his residence at Budhanilakantha today, he directed the delegation to summon the convention on time as the delay in handing the leadership over to a new generation would ultimately affect the intra-party mechanism. The convention should not be delayed under any circumstance, he said and pledged full support on behalf of the party towards that end.
Tarun Dal central Chairman and lawmaker Uday Shamser Rana said they were not in the position of holding the convention in the past due to non-cooperation from the party and now it has been already geared up for it.
Half a dozen sister wings including Nepal Students Union, Tarun Dal and Nepal Women Association have not been able to call the conventions on time.
